Jody Williams spent 21 years in UK policing, rising to Detective Chief Inspector. That career covered serious crime, counter-terrorism, and hostage negotiation, including two years as force lead for child death investigation and five years in Special Branch working at the interface of radicalisation, national security, and the most demanding operational decisions in British policing.

The frameworks taught in Clarity Under Pressure were not developed in a classroom. They were built over two decades of real decisions: in cul-de-sacs with wrong warrants and two minutes on the clock, in rooms with people who held views he found abhorrent and had to listen to anyway, at 3am with three simultaneous crime scenes and a broken command structure beneath him.

He led national counter-terrorism training programmes and received the Chief Constable’s Commendation for innovation in training for crisis situations, including the Op Explorer counter-terrorism training initiative. He has negotiated the peaceful resolution of armed hostage situations and coordinated force responses to some of the most complex operations in his force’s history.

He now brings those frameworks to corporate leaders facing the same structural challenges: competing priorities, decisions without perfect information, and teams that need influencing rather than instructing. He is based in Utah, USA and delivers globally.
